Rose Perfume
About the Formula
Caswell-Massey's Rose Perfume is a living floral capture of a wild rose that has grown in the New York Botanical Garden for decades. The perfume features the Heritage Rose that you can see and smell at the Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden. We captured the scent of many roses to find the right one for this fragrance.
Graceful yet vibrant, our Rose Perfume begins with a sparkling blend of bergamot and tart black currant, setting the stage for the lush emergence of sweet wild fig and the star of the show—the Heritage Rose. Anchored by earthy vetiver and a sensual trail of musk, this signature floral fragrance embodies timeless femininity and romance. In collaboration with the master gardeners at the New York Botanical Garden and renowned perfumer Laurent Le Guernec, Caswell-Massey has captured the true essence of the living Heritage Rose.

A True American Original
About Beatrix Jones Farrand
It takes perseverance, intellect, grace, and unwavering determination to be a true original in America. It is even more remarkable when such a visionary leaves an indelible mark on history. Beatrix Jones Farrand (1872–1959) was one of these trailblazers—the most accomplished landscape architect of her time and the only female founder of the American Society of Landscape Architects.
Farrand’s approach to landscape design was both artistic and scientific, incorporating native plants and carefully considering how landscapes evolved over time. She broke barriers as a woman in a male-dominated field, paving the way for future generations of landscape architects. Her legacy continues today through preserved gardens, her writings, and the institutions that honor her contributions to landscape architecture. She was also the original designer of the Rose Garden at the New York Botanical Garden, where our Rose Perfume was born.
As a brand rooted in American culture and creativity, we celebrate both her contributions to the beauty of the landscape and the paths she paved for future generations.
Every purchase from our Rose Collection directly supports the New York Botanical Garden’s work in plant research, conservation, horticulture and education.
