Origins of the Fragrance

LX48 is a collaboration with perfumer Jean-Marc Challain, who created the scent inspired by midcentury oak-paneled club rooms and as an homage to Caswell-Massey’s former flagship store on Lexington Avenue and 48th Street. This is where our tradition began of custom-blending bespoke fragrances for special clients and creating signature scent experiences—and our perfumers were known to be the most talented and exceptionally creative in the city. This Eau de Parfum continues that tradition in grand style.

Good scent, I would make it mind. C-M has good products I have tried VI, 2571 and Sandalwood. Still LX48 is preferred.

I hated it in the beginning, but now I miss it on the days I don't wear it.
The experience with this cologne has been bizarre. I know it sounds crazy and verbose, but when I first smelled this scent my first thought was "This smells like something my Grandma would wear". By the end of the first day I was like, well it isn't super horrible, but I certainly wasted my money on it. I had then read some reviews about it and one said you have to let the scent come to you, which I thought was elitest non-sense. However, it really is spot on, because after the third or forth wearing I was all in on it. There is nothing else like it that I have ever worn. I am not even going to try and describe it because the profile by the company is as close as anything I could say, but at the same time it isn't correct either. I truly do miss wearing this scent on the days I don't wear it. I never get compliments on it which doesn't surprise me, but at the same point it really does last all day, so I would think others must at least smell it. I think this scent is truly just for the wearer.
